Step 1: Make an Appointment with Your Eye Doctor If you do not have an existing doctor, request a referral from family and friends. This is the best way to get a reputable doctor. Once you have selected a doctor call to make sure they carry the Acuvue Oasys brand (most doctors will). You will then set up a lens fitting. Be sure to make the receptionist aware that this will not be just a regular exam but a fitting. A lens fitting takes longer than regular appointments. They typically run 90 minutes.
Step 2: Get Fitted for Lenses
Your doctor will measure your eye, assess your vision, and ask a few lifestyle questions. He will do this in order to fit you with the best lens. Be sure to ask your doctor for a trial pair. He will be more than happy to give you a pair if he does indeed have some. Otherwise he may go ahead and write you a prescription that day.
Step 3: Try Them for a Week
Try your trial pair or the prescription he gave you for a week or two (following the wearing schedule). You want to make sure that your vision is crisp and the lenses are comfortable.
Step 4: Follow Up With Your Doctor if Necessary
Your doctor may want you to come back in for a follow-up visit. He wants to make sure the lenses fit properly, are comfortable, and provide the absolute best vision. If you have any concerns share those with your doctor at this time. Once the two of you are sure you have the best lens for you he will write you a prescription.
Step 5: Order Replacement Lenses Online
